Welcome to théasty!



Hmm.  My first post.  What shall I talk about?! Well, since it’s a food blog, I guess it would make sense to start by introducing myself and why I decided to write a blog to begin with.

Broker by day, I run a successful department catered to the ultra high net worth; I spend most of my time managing clients, my staff and my sanity while squeezing in a liquid lunch (which helps the sanity).

My happiness? Food.  (no, I’m not an emotional eater…or am I? )

As a child, I was lucky to travel the world.  My laid back father enjoyed visiting places like Costa Rica (Where I ate my first Cow Tongue for $1 – thanks dad)  to my European mother, where I lived a number of years of my life eating the finest pastries, meats, cheeses and bread. 

My entire upbringing was based around travelling and eating the most cultured foods.  From curry in the remote island of the Philippines to Michelin Star restaurants, every happy moment and experience has food influence.   

I was the young girl staying home on the weekend to save money for a nice dinner and a  good bottle of wine; Put on some Frank Sinatra with my Bolognese and I am in H e a v e n.

So! When I found myself working my life away to become successful, I reached for cooking as my solitude.  One stop at the grocers, a good bottle of Cab and I could spend hours trying to create new dishes.  Cookbooks? Yes, I have them.  Do I use them? Hardly.  The fun is to try to figure it out yourself. New flavors, new techniques. My way (with some influence of course).

Here I am using my blog as a diary for my food. I hope you enjoy what  I have to offer.  I will travel, eat at all types of places (and tell you about it),  while sharing some amazing recipes!
